Grifols Stock Slumps After Index Removals
Grifols stock fell by 3.09 percent to EUR 9.360 on September 23, 2026, after being removed from two S&P indexes: the S&P International 700 and the S&P Europe 350 pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and life sciences industry group.
The company's first-half revenue increased by 2.6 percent at constant currency to EUR 3.6 billion, with a net profit of EUR 227 million, up 28.7 percent from the same period last year.
Biopharma was the main driver of growth during the first half, with a 5.4 percent increase in revenue at constant currency. Operating cash flow also improved, reaching EUR 228 million in Q2 2026, compared to EUR 110 million in Q1.
The removal from the S&P indexes puts short-term pressure on Grifols stock, but the company's improving operating picture and financial performance provide a counterweight to this effect.
