Gujarat Village Enamored with Dollar-Garland to Lord Ganesh
In the village of Devsar in Gujarat's Navsari district, a Ganesh idol has been garlanded with US dollar currency notes worth $400. The unusual 'dollar-garland' was donated by Yash Patel and his sister Shivani, who live in the US and returned to their hometown for the Ganesh festival.
Yash, who works in a hotel, said they feel blessed celebrating the festival with villagers and are attached to them. They also support people in their village who face financial problems by covering medical treatment and studies costs.
The 'dollar-garland' has become a major attraction at the Ganesh pandal, with visitors from nearby villages and talukas flocking to see it until Thursday, the last day of the festival before immersion on Friday.
