Heartland Shareholders Back TSB Merger Amid Regulatory Risks
Heartland Group Holdings' shareholders have approved the proposed merger with TSB Bank. The vote passed with an overwhelming majority, with 94.80% of votes cast supporting the transaction. This marks a significant step towards creating TSB Heartland Bank, which will combine the assets and operations of both banks.
The merger still faces some hurdles, including regulatory approvals from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The bank's review could affect completion if its findings differ significantly from what is currently known. Despite this risk, the approval provides a strong financial backdrop for the transaction.
Heartland reported improved fiscal 2026 results, with revenue increasing to NZD 326.12 million and net income rising to NZD 93.23 million. The stock has also gained 1.59% in value since the prior close of EUR 0.63, reaching a price of EUR 0.64 at Lang & Schwarz.
