Hedera Pushes Interoperability as Regulators Stress Industry-Led Blockchain Standards
Hedera has been actively promoting its position on tokenisation in UK wholesale markets. The network submitted a document to the Financial Conduct Authority and Bank of England, arguing that trust is established at the infrastructure layer.
The regulator's Feedback Statement FS26/1 was published on September 14, summarizing responses to their May Call for Input. Hedera was listed as one of the respondents but its position was not attributed. The statement mentioned interoperability as a key theme, with many respondents agreeing that it should be treated as a standalone workstream in the roadmap.
The regulators stated that industry is better placed to determine technical blockchain standards and operating norms for interoperability. They also emphasized accountability, saying regulated firms must remain responsible for outcomes such as operational resilience and KYC.
