High-Income Economies Concentrated in North America, Europe

The World Bank has classified countries into four income groups based on gross national income (GNI) per capita, using its Atlas method to convert local currencies into U.S. dollars.

In 2025, 64 countries are classified as high-income economies, including the United States, Canada, Germany, and Japan, with a GNI per capita above $14,375.

Russia has moved from upper-middle income to high-income in recent years, with an Atlas GNI per capita of $15,960 in 2025.
