Hungary Holds Firm on Forint Amid Euro Adoption Talk
The US dollar versus Hungarian forint exchange rate has edged lower as Hungary is expected to maintain its own currency, the forint, in the near term. According to Hungary's oldest brokerage, the country will keep the forint despite talk of adopting the euro. This decision would allow Hungary to retain monetary independence and control over its exchange rate.
The current GDP growth forecast stands at 2.5% over the next two years, with the forint projected to trade between Ft360 and Ft370 per euro. The USD/HUF pair shows bullish momentum across all timeframes, with a trading range expected between Ft315.6987 and Ft324.4181 over the next five days.
However, technical indicators are diverging, with some signals indicating overbought conditions. This has prompted caution among traders, who may be watching for potential pullbacks if the pair fails to sustain momentum above Ft320.3263.
