ICE Cotton Futures Soar to New High Amid Global Stock Tightness
The ICE cotton futures contract for December 2026 saw a significant surge in price, settling at 88.35 cents, up 2.94 cents from the previous day.
This marked a new contract high, with volume rising to 71,522 contracts and open interest hitting 361,871, indicating fresh participation behind the rally.
The increase was attributed to several factors, including tight global stocks, weather concerns in Texas, strong Chinese reserve buying, and a weaker US dollar.
China's State Reserve auction remained fully sold out for the 23rd consecutive session, with 8,058 tonnes of cotton sold at the auction alone.
