Indian and Japanese financial leaders met in Tokyo to discuss increasing long-term investment ties between their countries. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted India's economic growth, noting it reached 7.7% last year despite global uncertainties.

Goyal also mentioned India's ambition of becoming a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047 and the opportunities in key areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and digital infrastructure.

Japanese financial institutions expressed confidence in India's long-term growth prospects and called for easier capital flows, profit repatriation, and regulatory predictability. The engagement aims to mobilize 10 trillion yen in Japanese private investment into India over the next decade.
