India's IT software exports have reached new heights, rising by 9.5% to cross $239 billion in the financial year 2025-26, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This significant growth is attributed to the strong demand for Indian software services globally.

The RBI report highlights that computer services accounted for more than two-thirds of India's total software services exports during this period. BPO services remained the dominant component of IT-enabled services (ITES) exports, with finance and accounting services being a major stream.

Private limited companies dominated software exports in 2025-26, showing a growth rate of 9.3%. The United States was the top destination for Indian software exports, accounting for 54.1% share, followed by European countries at 31.8%, with the UK being a significant contributor.

The US dollar remains the primary invoicing currency for India's software exports, making up 72.6% of total transactions. The data also shows that 91.7% of software services were delivered through off-site mode.
