Indonesian Rupiah Surges on Weakening US Dollar and Easing Rate Hike Bets
The US Dollar's recent gains against the Indonesian Rupiah have been pared back as the Greenback weakens on easing Federal Reserve rate hike bets.
The CME FedWatch Tool suggests traders are pricing in nearly a 28% chance of an October rate increase, down from previous expectations.
This has led to a depreciation of the USD/IDR pair, trading around 17,910 during Asian hours on Friday.
However, US Treasury yields remain near their highest levels since 2002, supported by expectations of further Federal Reserve tightening and underlying resilience in the US economy.
