Inflation Ticks Down in US Amid High Energy Prices
US inflation has cooled off slightly, according to recent data. Consumer prices rose by 3.4 percent in July compared to the same month last year, matching economists' predictions. This marks a slight decrease from June's 3.5 percent increase.
The war in Iran is believed to have driven up energy prices, which contributed significantly to the inflation rate. Kristian Skriver, head of macroeconomics at Dansk Erhverv, noted that while inflation remains high, it could be worse without the recent surge in energy costs.
