ING Raises Bulgaria Inflation Forecast to 5.1% Amid Global Economic Challenges

ING Think has revised its forecasts for Bulgaria's inflation and economic growth, predicting a more challenging year ahead.

The bank's September report reveals that the global economy remains resilient despite various challenges such as droughts, extreme heat, trade clashes between the US and Canada, and disrupted logistics routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

Citing Carsten Brzeski, chief economist for the eurozone, markets have become more adaptable to uncertainty, but this resilience is not guaranteed due to factors like bond sell-offs making financing more expensive and investors factoring in higher risks.

The report forecasts average annual inflation of 5.1 percent for Bulgaria in 2026, up from the previous estimate of 4.9 percent.
