Iran Rejects US Claims of Economic Collapse Amid Sanctions
Tehran's Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati has dismissed US claims that Iran is on the brink of economic collapse, stating that the country has sufficient foreign currency reserves.
Hemmati made this assertion in a conference in Tehran, directly addressing US President Donald Trump. According to Hemmati, Iran's central bank has enough foreign currency and is prepared to inject $2 billion into the market.
The governor attributed the recent depreciation of the rial against the US dollar to psychological factors rather than economic instability. He also rejected claims that Iran has entered a period of hyperinflation, noting that the likelihood remains low despite high inflation rates.
