Iranian Rial Crashes to Record Low Amid Economic Pressures
The Iranian rial has reached a record low against the US dollar, trading at around 2.5 million rials per dollar on Tuesday morning.
This represents a decline of nearly 9% compared to the rate recorded just the previous evening, and marks a significant drop in value over the past month, with the rial losing around 25% of its worth against the dollar.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent attributed the collapse in the Iranian rial's value to the 'Economic Outcast' operation on social media platform X.
