Iran's Toman Plunges to Historic Low as Dollar Surpasses 267,000
The Iranian Toman has hit an all-time low on the free market, surpassing 267,000 Tomans against the US dollar. This marks a decline of over 10% in just five days, raising concerns about living costs and medicine supplies.
The value of the dollar has increased by more than 24,000 Tomans since September 28, when it traded at 241,800 Tomans. The euro has also surpassed 300,000 Tomans, while the British pound rose to 352,000 Tomans and the UAE dirham exceeded 73,000 Tomans.
Economic experts warn that this wave of depreciation and rising inflation could severely affect the supply of food, medicines, and other essential daily necessities. The pressure on citizens and salaried workers is expected to increase as a result.
