Iraq Secures Deal for New Dollar Shipments Amid Currency Regulation Efforts
The Iraqi government has reached an agreement with the US to continue delivering cash shipments of US dollars to Iraq. A new shipment is expected to arrive in the coming days, following Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi's visit to the United States.
The agreement comes as Baghdad continues to regulate the acquisition and distribution of dollars through official channels. This is being done in coordination with Iraqi and American financial institutions.
The government aims to strengthen foreign exchange controls, curb the misuse of foreign currency, and develop mechanisms for monitoring currency movement and distribution.
