Japan and US Team Up to Stabilize Turbulent Yen
The Japanese Yen has surged above 155.50 following a joint intervention by Japan and the US, according to TMGM trading.
Japanese authorities coordinated with their US counterparts on Friday to buy up the Yen in an effort to stabilize its value.
This move was confirmed by Katayama, who stated that officials will not hesitate to carry out further foreign exchange intervention if necessary.
The Treasury's Bessent noted that the coordinated moves on Friday helped curb disorderly Japanese Yen swings.
