Japan Blockchain Infrastructure Launches Stablecoin Pilot Program with 26 Participating Companies
The Japan Blockchain Infrastructure has announced the launch of its 'Stablecoin Pilot Partners' program to explore stablecoin use cases in collaboration with operating companies, financial institutions, and municipalities.
The program will run for approximately six months through February 2027 and is centered on the trust-type yen-denominated stablecoin 'EJPY,' which is currently being prepared for issuance. The 26 participating companies include Toshiba Corporation, Hachijuni Bank, and Tagawa City in Fukuoka Prefecture.
The program will examine use cases such as domestic remittances and settlements, real-world asset (RWA) settlements, and Web3 service payments. Participating companies will have access to a verification environment where they can test EJPY tokens, as well as opportunities for study sessions and individual consultations.
