Japan Maintains Close Communication with US on Currency Markets
Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki has announced that her country will continue to maintain close communication with the US on currency markets. Speaking at a regular press conference, Katayama stated that Japan's policy stance has not changed since the coordinated intervention and joint statement with the US.
In response to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's recent warning to those betting against the yen, Katayama said his comments reflect his market views, which are typical of someone from a hedge fund background.
