Pakistan Rupee Holds Steady Against Major Currencies Amid Market Volatility
Currency exchange rates in Pakistan have far-reaching consequences for businesses, consumers, and the government. The value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) against other major currencies such as the US dollar (USD), euro, and British pound has significant impacts on trade balances and inflation.
The currency exchange rates are closely monitored by overseas Pakistanis and investors on a daily basis. Fluctuations in exchange rates affect foreign direct investment (FDI), with a stable and predictable exchange rate environment being more attractive to foreign investors, as it reduces the risk of exchange rate losses.
The current exchange rates for various currencies were reported as follows: US dollar remained steady against Pakistani rupee with a buying rate of 278 and a selling rate of 278.7 on September 12, 2026; euro is trading at 322.48 for buying and 325.46 for selling; and UK Pound Sterling is at 375.75 and 378.70 respectively.
