Japanese Yen's Diverging Signals in Key Currency Pairs
The Japanese yen's performance in various currency pairs has yielded mixed technical signals.
USD/JPY and GBP/JPY are showing signs of stabilization after recent declines, but both still face nearby resistance. On the other hand, AUD/JPY appears less convincing with downside momentum keeping the March low and lower support levels in focus.
The USD/JPY technical analysis indicates a near-term top may be in place following Friday's bearish engulfing day. However, price action this week suggests that USD/JPY could recoup some of Friday's losses, forming three dojis with lower wicks to show demand above 156 and around the monthly pivot point.
The 200-day EMA and 50-day EMA are capping prices as resistance for USD/JPY. For GBP/JPY, a bullish outside day formed on Wednesday, hinting at a swing low. However, the rally has stalled just beneath the weekly pivot point, suggesting a potential pullback.
AUD/JPY is not hinting at an imminent swing low and appears to be on track for a second consecutive weekly decline, threatening to break the March low. The Aussie yen's 50-week EMA provides temporary support, but bearish momentum suggests AUD/JPY may continue its downward trend.
