Japan's Katayama: BoJ Rate Hike Targets Inflation Goal
Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama stated that the Bank of Japan's (BoJ) latest rate hike was aimed at achieving the country's inflation target.
Katayama emphasized that the BoJ will continue to conduct appropriate monetary policy, coordinating with the government in the process.
The Minister clarified that specific monetary policy tools are up to the BoJ to decide, adding that she won't comment on specific FX levels or rate checks.
