Jobs Report and Inflation Data Steer Market Expectations
The upcoming week is packed with crucial economic data releases and FedSpeak events that will likely set market expectations for future interest rate decisions. Labor market data takes center stage, capped off by September's employment report on Friday.
Ahead of the jobs report, August's payroll component of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index and the third estimate of Q2 GDP are due out on Wednesday, along with BEA's annual revisions. The Atlanta Fed's GDPNow model estimates Q3 growth at 5.0% as of September 25.
The Federal Reserve is also set to provide more insight into its interest rate decisions through various speeches from top officials, including Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin and New York Fed President John Williams. Overseas, the Reserve Bank of Australia will make an interest-rate decision this week.
