Jobs Report and Inflation Data Take Center Stage Ahead of FOMC Decision
The upcoming week is packed with economic data releases that will provide insight into the labor market's performance, inflation rates, and GDP growth. The main event of the week is September's employment report, which is expected to show a figure close to 100,000 new jobs added to the economy.
According to previous data, August saw a gain of 162,000 jobs, with private payrolls accounting for 127,000 of this increase. The leisure and hospitality sector led the way, adding 62,000 jobs, while goods-producing industries contributed 41,000 new positions.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh stated that the unemployment rate at 4.1% in August is 'basically running consistent with full employment.' He also noted that claims are running at levels consistent with full employment, which suggests a strong labor market.
