Kansas Republicans Defy Trump's Call to Boycott Canadian Jets

Kansas Republicans are pushing back against President Donald Trump's call to boycott Canadian jets from manufacturer Bombardier. The company has its defense headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, and employs over 1,200 people in the state.

The president demanded on his social media platform Truth Social that Bombardier stop selling its products in the US, claiming their planes aren't good enough. He also stated that more than 50% of their revenue comes from the United States.

However, Kansas Senator Roger Marshall argued that it was a good thing for the US economy that so many of Bombardier's jets were purchased by US customers and built with American labor. He pointed out that the president's mission to bring more manufacturing jobs back to Wichita is in line with his own goals.

Marshall has already taken his concerns inside the Oval Office, and Senator Jerry Moran reached out to the Trump administration to make sure the president is aware of Bombardier's significant contributions to Kansas. Moran stated that he will continue working to see that Bombardier's manufacturing operations not only remain in Kansas but grow and create American jobs.
