Kashkari Signals Further Rate Hikes Ahead as Inflation Concerns Persist
Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari has reaffirmed his stance that inflation remains too high, despite recent price data coming in softer than market expectations.
Kashkari, who is a non-voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) this year, said his baseline view on inflation data is that 'inflation is still too high.'
Although the pace of price increases has slowed more than anticipated, Kashkari emphasized that the current level of inflation itself remains a concern.
He suggested that the Federal Reserve could move forward with additional rate hikes to bring inflation back to its target levels.
