King Charles III Takes Center Stage on New $20 Bill

The Bank of Canada has introduced a new $20 bill that will enter circulation in February 2027. This new design is unique from previous versions, featuring a vertical layout and advanced security features.

The new banknote honors King Charles III, who replaces his late mother Queen Elizabeth II on the currency. The Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France is featured on the opposite side of the bill.

The updated polymer note boasts innovative 3D design elements, including a purple security strip that appears to move when tilted. Other features include raised ink and tactile elements that mimic the feel of real leaves and flowers.
