New Zealand's economy showed surprising resilience in the second quarter of this year, as its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter.

This growth rate is significantly higher than the expected 0.1%, and represents a continuation of the economic expansion that started in Q1 with a 0.8% increase.

On an annualized basis, New Zealand's GDP grew by 2.6% in the second quarter, beating the predicted 2.3% growth rate.

This strong performance may have implications for the local currency and interest rates, as a growing economy can attract foreign investment and lead to inflation.
