Kiwi Surges as Chinese Services Data Exceeds Expectations
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) rebounded above 0.5850 against the US Dollar (USD) during early Asian trading on Thursday, snapping a four-day losing streak.
The improvement was attributed to stronger-than-expected Chinese services data, with the Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rising to 51.4 in August from 50.4 in July, surpassing market expectations of 50.6.
China's non-manufacturing PMI held steady at 49.0 in August, while manufacturing PMI improved to 49.8, exceeding forecasts of 49.7.
The New Zealand economy's strong trade ties with China and the country's reliance on dairy exports, which have been positively impacted by higher prices, contributed to the Kiwi's strengthening.
