Knot and Hernández de Cos Emerge as Contenders for ECB Leadership

Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten expressed his support for Knot, praising him as a 'very pragmatic' figure who is 'capable of working with everyone.' Jetten noted that Knot's term as head of the central bank of the Netherlands was marked by significant success and that he understands 'the balance between the north and the south of the eurozone.'

Knot, who led the Dutch central bank for 14 years from 2011 to 2025, is currently at the helm of his own advisory firm, KK Economic Advisory. His extensive experience and profile make him a strong contender for the ECB presidency in the coming months.
