Labour Appoints TUC Chief to Bank of England Amid Criticism of Reform UK Funding
Labour has appointed the Trades Union Congress (TUC) chief, Paul Nowak, to a top role at the Bank of England after he criticized Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
The appointment comes after Nowak, who collects a £160,000 annual salary as TUC General Secretary, took aim at Reform UK's funding from two crypto billionaires, Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo.
Nowak was appointed to the Bank of England’s Court of Directors alongside senior financial markets and data technology executive David Craig.
The Chancellor said the appointments strengthen the Court at a critical moment for the UK economy, providing deep and varied experience to support the Bank in delivering its core missions of monetary and financial stability.
