Labour Surpasses National on Economy Handling: Ipsos Poll
A recent Ipsos poll has found that Labour is perceived as the most capable party in handling the top five issues facing New Zealanders, including the economy. The July poll surveyed 1002 respondents via online panels and weighted their responses by age, gender, and region.
The top issue for the survey was inflation/cost of living at 62%, followed closely by healthcare/hospitals at 38%. Labour's leader Chris Hipkins has been speaking about Labour's congress. Image source: Aaron Masagnay
The economy came in third with a rating of 34%, while housing/price of housing was at 22% and unemployment at 20%. In May, National was seen as equally capable at handling the economy as Labour, but by July, it had slipped out of that position.
