Lagarde Allegedly Intervened in Binance's Greek MiCA Licence Bid
The European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde allegedly intervened in Binance's bid to secure a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA, licence in Greece.
A report published on September 18 claimed that Lagarde asked Greek officials to delay or block approval of the exchange's application.
The reported intervention was linked to a proposed transfer of licensing powers from national authorities to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
