Lagarde Calls for Calm Amid Eurozone Bond Market Turmoil
European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde has called for calm in the face of turmoil in government bond markets. The move comes after a recent spike in yields on government debt across the eurozone.
Lagarde's comments follow an informal meeting of EU economic and financial affairs ministers at Dublin Castle in Ireland, where European finance ministers gathered to discuss the issue.
France's Finance Minister Roland Lescure was present at the meeting. When asked about the bond market turmoil, he echoed Lagarde's sentiments, saying 'concerned but not anxious'.
