Las Vegas Casinos Thank Canadians for Boosting Tourism
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported that Canadian visitors to Las Vegas decreased by 20% in 2025 compared to the previous year, but three casinos decided to take action.
Circa Resort and Casino, The D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino launched an 'At Par' promotion in mid-January, treating Canadian dollars as U.S. dollars across select gaming, hotel, and beverages until August 31.
Under the program, eligible Canadian guests received $1 U.S. in value for every $1 Canadian dollar spent, regardless of daily exchange rates.
Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa, The D, and Golden Gate, expressed gratitude to Canadians who took part in the promotion, saying 'We had 120,000 Canadians who came through our three properties at the Golden Gate, The D, and Circa. That's up 80 per cent from last year.'
The promotion was successful, with $20 million worth of coins played on slot machines by Canadians, and 8,000 room nights booked from Canadian visitors, more than double what they normally do at their three properties.
