Swiss NDB Director Bavaud has warned against Chinese tech companies, specifically naming Lenovo as one that collaborates with intelligence services. According to the 'NZZ am Sonntag', Lenovo is in the running for a major federal contract and stands a good chance of winning it.

The company's involvement with intelligence services may be a concern, given its potential access to sensitive information through government contracts. Lenovo has stated that they comply with applicable laws and regulations in every market where they operate, including Switzerland.

In another development, Swiss Steel is undergoing restructuring and plans to cut jobs in Germany. The company reported a loss of 311 million Swiss francs for 2025, which is 115 million more than the previous year. Revenue also shrank dramatically.
