Libya's Central Bank Seeks International Cooperation on Economic Reform
The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, met with Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England and Chair of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), at his office in London.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and communication between the CBL and international financial institutions.
Discussions covered current economic developments, efforts towards fiscal sustainability, and ways to enhance cooperation on banking operations, monetary policy, and financial stability.
Issa also briefed Bailey on the CBL's plans for financial inclusion, including developing electronic payment systems and expanding access to modern payment methods.
Bailey commended the CBL's efforts and achievements under challenging circumstances, acknowledging the impact of political divisions in Libya on the Bank's ability to operate normally.
