Lloyds Offers Market-Leading 8% Interest Rate on Savings
Lloyds Bank is currently offering its customers an 8% interest rate on their savings for one year. This rate far surpasses the Bank of England's current base rate of 3.75%, giving savers with Lloyds or Bank of Scotland accounts a prime opportunity to earn higher returns on their deposits.
According to Moneyfacts, there are now 1,385 live savings accounts offering rates above the base rate, marking the highest number in six years. Rachel Springall, a finance expert at Moneyfacts, advises savers to be 'proactive' in securing better interest rates.
Lloyds and Bank of Scotland customers can earn up to £120 in interest per year with their regular savings account by depositing a maximum of £250 monthly for 12 months. This rate is fixed for the duration of the one-year term, ensuring savers don't miss out on potential earnings.
Zopa and First Direct also offer competitive rates at 7.1% variable for six months and 7% fixed for one year, respectively. However, these rates come with different deposit limits and terms.
