Loonie Slides Amid Rising US Dollar and Unchanged GDP
The Canadian dollar experienced a slight decline on Tuesday morning as the US dollar continued its upward trend.
According to Statistics Canada, the country's real gross domestic product remained unchanged in July, which may have contributed to the currency's decline.
Currency exchange rates show that as of 8:35 am CDT, the Canadian dollar was valued at US$0.7051 or US$1=C$1.4181 compared to Monday's close of US$0.7058 or US$1=C$1.4168.
The US Dollar Index also saw a slight increase, rising by 0.174 points to 101.100.
