Loonie Surges Past June High as TSX Hits New Records
The Canadian dollar reached its highest close since June 5 on Tuesday, trading at US$0.7180 or US$1=C$1.3927.
This marks a slight increase from Monday's closing price of US$0.7173 or US$1=US$1.3942.
The United States Dollar Index also rose, adding 0.04 of a point at 99.85.
Crude oil prices were higher on Tuesday, with West Texas Intermediate advancing US$1.24 per barrel to US$83.37 and Brent crude oil rising US$1.36/barrel to US$89.08.
