Loonie Surges to Highest Close Since June 5 as TSX Hits New High
The Canadian dollar reached its highest close since June 5 on Tuesday, finishing at US$0.7180 or US$1=C$1.3927.
This rise in the loonie came despite modest losses earlier in the day for crude oil prices, which were higher due to ongoing concerns over the Strait of Hormuz.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index set another all-time high this morning at 36,661.19 points before settling at 36,475.92, up 17.59 points from Monday.
