Loonie Weakens as Oil Prices Drop Amid Diplomatic Hopes
The Canadian dollar weakened by 0.2% to 1.4070 per U.S. dollar, or 71.07 U.S. cents, after oil prices fell 5.7% to $75.80 a barrel on Tuesday.
Data showed Canada recorded its fourth consecutive month of trade surpluses in June, with a surplus reaching a four-year high of C$3.86 billion ($2.75 billion).
Analysts had forecast a surplus of C$3 billion.
