Mimura Reiterates Tokyo and Washington's Yen Intervention Stance
Japan's top currency diplomat, Atsushi Mimura, has reinforced Tokyo and Washington's stance against excessive yen declines. According to Reuters, Mimura said markets should take the message 'very clear' from last week's warnings.
Mimura also dismissed concerns over funding constraints for Japan's yen-buying intervention, saying he had 'absolutely no such concern.'
The comments came as the USD/JPY pair dipped 0.18% to around 156.90 on the day of Mimura's statement.
