National Bank of Canada Launches $2.25 Billion Share Buyback Program
Canada's National Bank has announced plans to launch a $2.25 billion share buyback program to optimize its balance sheet and support shareholder returns.
The normal course issuer bid, which is subject to regulatory approval, will allow the bank to repurchase up to 10 million common shares, representing approximately 2.6% of its outstanding shares.
The program aims to run from October 9, 2026, to October 8, 2027, and will use market-priced purchases on Canadian trading venues, including potential automatic plans through the bank's broker, National Bank Financial Inc.
