National Bank of Canada Seeks Share Buyback Approval for C$2.25B
National Bank of Canada has announced plans to repurchase up to C$2.25B worth of its common shares through a normal course issuer bid.
The program, which is subject to regulatory approval, will allow the bank to buy back approximately 10 million common shares, representing about 2.6% of its outstanding shares as of September 1, 2026.
The share repurchase plan is expected to begin around October 9, 2026, and end no later than October 8, 2027, according to the bank's statement.
