National Bank of Canada Unveils $2.25 Billion Share Repurchase Plan
National Bank of Canada (TSX: NA) has announced its intention to launch a normal course issuer bid to repurchase up to 10,000,000 common shares, worth approximately $2.25 billion. This represents around 2.6% of the bank's issued and outstanding common shares as of September 1, 2026.
The normal course issuer bid will be subject to approval from the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
Purchases under the normal course issuer bid are expected to begin on or around October 9, 2026, and end by October 8, 2027. The actual number of common shares purchased will be at the bank's discretion.
