National Unveils Economic Plan to Support Kiwis
National's Economic Plan aims to support Kiwis in achieving their financial goals and building a secure future. The plan focuses on responsible management of finances, reducing red tape, improving education, driving trade and investment, and building infrastructure for the future.
According to Nicola Willis, National's Finance and Economic Growth spokesperson, 'Delivering on our Economic Plan means we can commit to no new taxes so people keep more of what they earn, reward hard work with more jobs and higher wages, and build New Zealanders' financial security.'
The plan includes a return to surplus in 2028/29, reducing red tape by replacing the Resource Management Act, delivering world-class education through NCEA replacement and increased trades training, driving trade and investment, and building new roads, hospitals, classrooms, and energy projects.
National has been focused on reversing the downward spiral of the economy since coming into Government. This includes delivering tax relief, stopping wasteful spending to lower inflation and interest rates, and removing barriers for businesses.
The party claims that despite ongoing uncertainty overseas, New Zealand's economy is turning around, with inflation and interest rates down, and 220,000 new jobs forecast over the next four years.
