Nepal's Foreign Exchange Reserves Reach Nearly Rs. 4 Trillion
Nepal's foreign exchange reserves have grown to nearly Rs. 4 trillion in mid-August 2026, according to the latest data from Nepal Rastra Bank.
The growth is attributed to continued remittance inflows, which increased by 21.2% to Rs. 215 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year. This was a lower increase than the previous year's 29.9%, but still significant at 10.2% in US dollar terms.
The gross foreign exchange reserves stood at Rs. 3,946.23 billion in mid-August 2026, up from Rs. 3,897.67 billion in mid-July 2026. In US dollar terms, the reserves increased by 2.1% to US$ 25.84 billion.
