Nephos Group Tapped by Agant for GBPA Stablecoin Proof of Reserves
Nephos Group, a UK-founded accountancy consultancy, has been appointed as the proof of reserves attestation partner for Agant's GBPA sterling stablecoin. The appointment is part of Agant's efforts to establish trust and credibility in its stablecoin, which is issued across four blockchain networks: Ethereum, Base, Tempo, and Solana.
The UK government's developing regulatory framework for stablecoins requires regulated issuers to provide independent reserve verification as a baseline compliance requirement. Nephos Group will deliver ISAE 3000 attestation services to verify that GBPA remains fully reserved on a one-to-one basis against sterling.
According to Joe David, founder and CEO of Nephos Group, proof of reserves is rapidly becoming a baseline requirement for regulated issuers. 'As digital assets become increasingly integrated into mainstream financial services, the market needs accounting partners that understand both established assurance standards and the technical realities of blockchain infrastructure,' he said.
