The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is undergoing a significant leadership overhaul under Governor Anna Breman, who is now nearly a year into her tenure. The bank is actively recruiting two new assistant governors, one for monetary policy and another for payments and cash, as part of this restructuring effort.
This move comes after the announced departure of Assistant Governor Karen Silk, who will leave the bank in mid-December. The newly created roles are designed to strengthen the central bank’s senior ranks and align its leadership with current strategic priorities.
Governor Breman’s initiative reflects a broader effort to reshuffle the bank’s top leadership, ensuring that key positions are filled with individuals who can navigate the evolving economic landscape and regulatory challenges.
